Can I mix 8-bit and 10-bit outputs on the same server?

Yes, with conditions.

Backstage supports mixing 8-bit and 10-bit GPU outputs on the same server, provided all outputs share the same resolution.

Requirements

• All outputs must run at the same resolution

• Bit depth is set per output in the Outputs window — each GPU Output has its own Bit Depth property (Auto, 8-bit, or 10-bit)

• Setting Bit Depth to Auto lets Backstage select the highest depth supported by the connected display

Limitations

• Mixed bit depth across outputs at different resolutions is not supported

• 10-bit output requires a display and cable that supports 10-bit signalling end-to-end
