Broadcast Scheduler

Last updated 7 August 2026

Plays sequences to a timetable — a repeating base schedule plus one-off overrides for a specific date. Built for installations that run themselves: opening hours, a museum's daily programme, a shop window. Opened from View > Broadcast Scheduler.

Description

Values / Range

Label

Name of the scheduler.

Text

Clock

Which clock the timetable follows.

Dropdown

Preemption

What happens when a higher-priority entry starts while another is playing.

Dropdown

Default in / Default out

Transitions used entering and leaving an entry.

Dropdown

Fade ms

Duration of those transitions.

Milliseconds

Early start (s)

Starts an entry this many seconds before its scheduled time — room for a fade-in to complete before the entry is due.

Seconds

Sequencer (Fallback)

What plays when no entry is active.

Sequencer

Loop fallback

Loops the fallback rather than playing it once.

Checkbox

First day of week

Which day the weekday columns start on — display only.

Dropdown

Log transitions

Writes each schedule change to the log — useful for confirming an unattended installation ran as intended.

Checkbox

Values

Priority

Breaks a tie between two entries in the same layer. Higher wins.

Value

Rank

Low

0

Normal

1

default

High

2

Critical

3

Emergency

4

Layer beats priority. An override always takes precedence over a base-schedule entry, whatever their priorities — priority only decides between entries of the same layer. A base entry set to Emergency still loses to a Normal override.

Preemption

Value

Description

Graceful

Applies the normal fade transition.

HardCut

Switches immediately, with no fade.

Transition mode

Used by Default in and Default out. The same set the Stepper uses.

Value

Description

Hard

No transition.

FadeIn

Fades the incoming content up.

FadeOut

Fades the outgoing content down.

XFade

Crossfades between them.

First day of week

Monday or Sunday — display only. The stored weekday mask is always Monday-based, so changing this never alters a schedule.
