Recording Output
Writes what an output renders to a file instead of, or as well as, sending it to a screen.
Recording
|
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Record to File |
Starts and stops the recording. |
|
Width / Height |
Resolution to record at. Backstage warns when it does not match the output — Recording resolution does not match output resolution. |
|
File Name |
Name of the written file. |
|
Recording Path |
Where it is written. An unusable path reports Invalid Recording Path! |
|
Record nth frame |
Records every nth frame, for a time-lapse or a lighter check recording. |
|
Append / Overwrite |
What to do when the file already exists. |
Format
|
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Output Video Type / Output Format |
What is written. A mismatch against the output's own depth reports Recording bit depth does not match output bit depth. |
|
Recording Mode |
How frames are captured from the output. |
|
Container Format / Video Codec / Pixel Format |
The file's container and encoding. |
|
Frame Rate / Bit Rate |
Rate and quality of the encode. |
|
Audio Source / Audio Codec |
Which audio is recorded with the video, and how it is encoded. |
Performance
|
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Asynchronous Copy |
Copies frames off the GPU without stalling the render loop. |
|
Number of Threads |
Threads used for encoding. |
Recording competes with the show for the same GPU and disk. A recording that keeps up in rehearsal can drop frames under a heavier scene — verify it on the real content, not on a test pattern.
