Assets

Last updated 5 August 2026
All imported or generated media are considered assets, which can be managed through the asset window.

The window groups them by type. Each group has a + button that adds an asset of that type, and selecting an asset shows its settings in the Inspector.

An asset is not tied to one place in the show: the same one can be dragged onto a surface, placed as an event in the Sequencer, or set as a surface's default asset.

Adding assets

  • Click + on the group for the type you want, and browse to the file.

  • Or drag files in from the file explorer — dropping them into this window imports them, and dropping them onto the Sequencer imports and places them in one move.

  • Composed types are created rather than imported: Create Crop & Combine Asset, Create Stereo Container and Create Pre-Warped Container make an empty one for you to fill.

Common Mistakes

  • An image sequence imports as a single image, or the reverse — the dialog that appears at import decides which. It keys on the numbering in the file name.

  • A live source is missing from its group — NDI sources appear only while they are being broadcast, and capture inputs only with the card installed.

  • Deleting an asset that is still in use — an asset can be referenced by a sequencer event, a surface default and a node at once. Check before removing it.
