Projector

A projector in the scene: where it stands, what lens it has, and what it covers. Its position and orientation are on Device Default Properties; everything here describes the optics and what it renders.

Lens

The field of view can be entered three ways, and they describe the same thing — pick whichever matches the number you actually have.

Description

Throw Ratio

Distance to the screen divided by image width. The number on a projector data sheet.

H.FoV / V.FoV

The horizontal or vertical angle instead, entered as Horizontal Field of View or Vertical Field of View.

Aspect Ratio

Of the projected image.

Lens Shift

How far the lens is offset from centre, horizontally and vertically.

Shear

Skew in the projected image.

Camera calibration measures all of these and overwrites them. If the projector will be calibrated, there is no need to look up throw ratio or lens shift beforehand — leave them and let the calibration solve them. Entering them by hand matters only for a scene that is never calibrated.

Order

The order the local Euler rotations are applied in.

View target

What the projector points at, shown as (auto) when derived from the scene or (user-placed) once moved by hand. Reset to auto returns it.

Project Stereo Content

The projector shows one eye of a stereoscopic pair.

Use Stereo Channel

Which channel it takes — Channel 1 to 4.

Enable Blending

The projector participates in edge blending with its neighbours.

Enable Global Brightness Correction

Applies a brightness correction to this projector.

Adjust Brightness

The correction amount — for matching a projector whose lamp or laser has aged differently from the others.

Blending is per projector, not per group. A projector with blending off in a blended array shows its full overlap at full brightness, which reads as one projector being too bright rather than as a blending setting.
